Building the next layer of podcast consumption.

PodGenie AI began in July 2024 with a white paper — PodFeed: Chapter-Level Discovery for Podcast Listening — describing a future where podcasts are consumed by topic and chapter rather than by full episode. At the time, the idea was clear but the engineering effort to make it real was prohibitive for a single founder.

Two things changed that. First, large language models matured to the point of producing reliable per-chapter summaries from audio at viable cost. Second, AI-augmented engineering tools like Claude Code made it possible for a small team — currently one engineer — to build production-quality consumer software at a pace that previously required a venture-funded team.

Saaro is the first product realization of the PodFeed thesis. It is now in private beta.
